Telegram is six years old! 🥳\nTo celebrate, we locked six people in a room and gave them six hours to write this encyclopedia of Telegram (it took 24). \nhttps://telegram.org/blog/6-years
Telegram is 7 years old today – and we have a present for you. Yes, it\'s Video Calls. 🎁\nEnjoy the update while we go back to doing the three most important things: adding new features, standing up for what we believe in and animating emoji.\nRead more on our blog:\nhttps://telegram.org/blog/video-calls
Telegram has launched the ability to buy and sell short recognizable @ usernames for personal accounts, public groups and channels.\nThe auction for the best usernames is live on Fragment:\nhttps://fragment.com\nThe ownership of these collectible usernames is secured in the immutable ledger of TON, a fast and scalable blockchain network. Owners can add multiple username aliases to their personal account, group or channel.\nEach collectible name can be accessed with its @username on Telegram, or outside Telegram using links such as username.t.me and t.me/username.\nFor the first time in the history of social media, people have full ownership of their usernames. Long-time Telegram users who have been using short usernames they registered early on can now benefit from the platform\'s growth by selling their usernames in fair, transparent, fully decentralized auctions.
Today\'s update brings you multiple pinned messages, proximity alerts for Live Locations, sending music as Playlists, and more.\nAll chats, including one-on-one chats now support multiple pinned messages. Tap on the top bar to jump through them in chat, or use the new icon to open all the pinned messages on a separate page. \nWhen sharing Live Location, you can now set distance alerts that will send you a notification when someone is close, and icons on the map show which direction users are facing. \nSending multiple music files at the same time will create a playlist. Pressing play will automatically add the rest of the tracks to your queue. For other file types, multiple photos or documents will be sent as an album.\nIt wouldn’t be an update without extra animated emoji, so check out what happens when you send a single ⚰️ 🎃 🧛♀️ 🧟♂️ 🦇 🕷 🕸 🌜 🌛 or 🗿 in chat (and tap on the animated ⚰️ and 🎃 emojis in chat for an extra surprise).\nIf you’re feeling lucky, see if you can hit the jackpot using 🎰.\nFor more info on all these changes and more, including Channel Stats for individual posts and new Android animations, read the blog here: https://telegram.org/blog/pinned-messages-locations-playlists\nAvailable on Android immediately (Google Play, APK) – and for the rest immediately after you switch to Android (or as soon as Apple finishes approving the update).
