📜 I used to work with a guy who literally broke his back and couldn't get pain pills from his doctor because it was during the whole uproar about doctors overprescribing oxycontin, so for a short time he got severely addicted to oxycontin he got on the street and had to go into rehab. How much easier would that guy's life have been if he could have just smoked a little opium when his back hurt and everybody went about minding their own business? He probably would have given it up naturally over time as his pain decreased, but instead he had to go through all of that nonsense. 😐

📜 Passing thought: Maybe the reason poppies and opium exist in the first place is because life is hard and painful and God knew that there would be certain people who benefit from having their pain and anxiety relieved, just like some people like to take a drink sometimes at the end of a hard day? I personally prefer legal cannabis products in that regard; the only opiates I've tried over the years have made me feel weird and unsettled and I don't really see the appeal, but to each their own I guess. I feel the same way about cocaine; it just makes me feel weird and uncomfortable. It certainly doesn't relieve any of my anxiety. At any rate, I'm not about to tell a guy with back problems who just got divorced after his dog died how he should spend his day. Him potentially becoming a homeless zombie is the part that's my problem, not the fact that he needs something stronger than Excedrin to get through the day. 😐

📜 More and more I think Don Junior is the only good choice for VP. He's the only person I trust to do exactly what his father would do and the only person that could keep MAGA fully unified after his dad's final term is up. Everyone else just either hasn't shown the same character, or would try to make this movement about them instead of Trump. I think we're still in the stages where there is no MAGA movement without Trump. I don't want to see the mantle being passed out of the Trump family. It's not ready yet. It won't hold together the same way. We need a unified front for the foreseeable future. Don Jr would give us that. 😐

📜 Sorry I haven't been writing much lately, I've been going through a little bubble of depression the last few weeks and I've got a bit of brainfog and anhedonia. Autoimmune stuff is bothering me at the moment; got a butterfly rash again; so that's definitely a precipitating factor. Nothing serious; I get these from time to time, it'll pass; but it makes it hard to get excited enough about a topic to write about it or be engaged. I really want to get back to doing something productive on here; Q in Review, or maybe trying to commit to writing a weekly column on Substack; but at the moment it's hard just to get out of bed and get going. It's also hard to get out of the autoimmune depressive funk once you're in it because you lack the energy to do all the little things that would add up to make you start feeling better; eating properly, taking vitamins consistently, trying to get some excercise, etc. Like I said, this happens from time to time; I've been suffering from major depression for most of my life, so this is nothing compared to how bad things used to be. Anyway, thanks for sticking around in the meantime. ❤️

📜\nCurrent plans:\nI\'m thinking of going back to school this fall on the Tennessee Reconnect grant. The only problem with this is that it doesn\'t pay for books.\nI might consider doing a GiveSendGo to pay for the cost of books if I end up going back to school just so my parents don\'t have to pay for everything if anybody feels like helping out with that. Otherwise I\'ll be selling plasma again, which I\'m not sure is the best thing if you have an autoimmune problem and constantly get anemic.\n🥴\nI\'ve avoided fundraising campaigns in the past, but if I do go back to school it seems like a legitimate reason to do one of those for the first time. The estimated cost of books per semester is $600, but that fluctuates and I\'m also pretty good at finding things for cheap or free, so I can hopefully cut that cost down.\nIt\'s not a sure thing yet; I\'m coming up against the enrollment deadlines, but it\'s something productive to do at least. \nAnyway, that\'s where my head is at.\n😐
